Silver Creek senior Jazlynn Shearer won the girls 100-meter hurdles in an all-conditions nation-leading wind-aided effort of 13.24 seconds, in addition to prevailing in the triple jump with a second-round wind-aided mark of 41-1 (12.52m) at the state finals at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium. Shearer added a second-place finish in the long jump with a fourth-round wind-legal performance of 19-10.75 (6.06m) to finish with 28 points overall, earning runner-up by herself behind champion Buchanan, which had 50 points.
